We are in the business of helping people, and for this reason we place individuals as our first priority. We aim for success by recognizing each person’s worth; creating and maintaining an environment where individuality is promoted and dignity is preserved. We base our ideology and approach to care on the core principles of integrity, respect, excellence, accountability and trust.
Utah is home to 14 of our great facilities all specializing in different elements of care, including rehabilitation centers and a Veteran’s home. See the graph to the right for details on what the location nearest you specializes in. You will find that we offer the best in elder care when compared to other Utah nursing homes.
Our specialized care is focused on the following elements in our Utah locations.
Our commitment to meeting the individual needs of each patient shines through our variety of services which anticipate and meet the needs of each resident. We recognize the transition from home or hospital to a care facility can be difficult. Our skilled nursing staff works with residents and their families to make sure we get the balance between attention and independence right. Our individual approach to care puts residents and their choices first.
Some people need help with some of the normal activities of everyday life (bathing, eating, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, etc.), but want to live as independently as possible. For them, assisted living facilities offer a solution. These facilities are designed to provide needed services that aren’t available in a normal living situation, while allowing them more independence than they would have in a skilled nursing facility. At Avalon, an innovative leader of Utah nursing homes, we’re here to help our residents live to the full limits of their capabilities, despite the challenges of age.
Memory care is the term for a long-term care option for patients who have been diagnosed with conditions likely to cause problems with at least two areas of daily living. A memory care environment is home-like and designed for persons with a level of impairment making it unsafe for him or her to continue to stay at home, but who does not require the intensive care of a skilled nursing facility. Memory care allows a person experiencing memory loss to maintain a level of independence while relying on the safety and security of being in a residential facility with a professional staff.
With the best interest of each resident in mind, we also offer behavioral health care in select facilities. Our brains determine how we reason, how we behave, how we feel, and how we understand our everyday experiences. We also use our brain to feel emotion, to reason and make choices, to think and plan, to form memories and relationships. When problems arise within the intricate communications between the mind and body, people may develop conditions that affect how they think and behave. These conditions disrupt their day-to-day lives in ways that can be harmful to themselves or to others. The residents in our care will receive the individual attention they need to interact socially and remain as independent as possible.
