More than 25 years ago, founders Randy Kirton and Lewis Garrett recognized an unmet need in their Salt Lake City community. They saw aging family and friends without the resources and facilities to meet their changing health and circumstances. Randy imagined a care center that not only maintained a great quality of life for all seniors, but one where love and devotion were tangible. A successful developer and entrepreneur, Randy decided to change course professionally. In 1981 he began dedicating his time and resources to creating better choices for seniors and their families. After ten years of industry experience, with new insight and vision, he founded Avalon Health Care, Inc. in 1989.
Today Avalon is a leader in providing quality care both through our inpatient services and ancillary hospice, rehabilitation therapy, psychiatric and home and community based services. Patients are our first priority and we are committed to meeting the physical and emotional needs of each individual in our care. Unlike larger health service providers, we are able to deliver quality because of our size and local focus. Our care is still community-driven. As a regional provider, we know our customers and they know us.
This approach has made Avalon one of the most successful providers of senior care solutions in the western United States. Our team shares a passion for improving seniors' quality of life. We now offer services to meet a variety of needs in a variety of settings. Our single facility founded on principles of nurturing and respect has blossomed into a thriving network with facilities in five states.
