Brian Swinton: Mr. Swinton joined Avalon Health Care in March 2007 as a member of its Board of Directors. He has been a senior living industry leader for more than 20 years in CCRC's, Assisted and Independent Living, Dementia Care and Skilled Nursing. Currently Mr. Swinton is a lead instructor for the University of Maryland Erickson School of Aging Studies, Vice Chairman of Australian Senior Living, and the principal of a successful consulting practice.
Historically he created Marriott's Brighton Gardens, one of the nation's primary assisted living concepts, Stratford Court, Marriott's CCRC prototype, and the sales and marketing efforts for Marriott Senior Living. He later spearheaded the development of another assisted living mainstay, Hearthside (now MapleRidge).
Most recently, Brian served as Executive Vice President of Sunrise Senior Living, one of the world's premier providers of senior living, where he headed sales and marketing, market feasibility, customer and employee satisfaction and product development. He also founded Sunrise At Home Assisted Living currently in major US markets.
Brian has served as Chairman of the National Council on Senior's Housing, and as vice president of the National Association of Senior Living Industries. He holds a MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
